Johnston Research has had the pleasure of working on two separate projects with the Canadian Patient Safety Institute (CPSI). CPSI works to improve patient safety across Canada, working with professionals inside the healthcare system and with the users of the health care system.
Both research projects evaluated online research and education tools for the health care community. In the first research project, Johnston Research evaluated opportunities for and expectaions of an online search tool that would support effective and efficient gathering of patient safety and quality improvement information. That system, the Improving Care Search Center was launched on May 3, 2011. Click here to access the tool.
The second research project investigated opportunites for an upgraded Communities of Practice social networking site. The site would be dedicated to supporting online discussions and information sharing amongst health care professionals within specific disciplines. Through the research process we investigated interest levels for the social networking site, content requirements and useablility and functionality expectations.
Research was conducted through online focus groups and one-on-one interviews.
